FAQ

How Much Do You Charge?
Traditional daycare centers typically cost around $1,250 per month.
In Virginia, the average rate for a nanny is approximately $16 per hour, which translates to about $2,500 monthly for full-time care.
Our pricing falls somewhere in between. We are currently finalizing our pricing structure and are more than happy to work with parents to find a solution that fits their needs.
It's important to us that we provide our teachers with a livable wage. Unfortunately, many educators in this industry are often forced to take on multiple jobs just to make ends meet, which can negatively impact the quality of care and attention that children receive. We are committed to ensuring that our staff can focus on providing the best possible experience for your little ones.

Do you support children with special needs?
Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accommodate children with severe special needs. However, we encourage you to reach out to us with any questions you may have. We would be happy to discuss your specific situation and explore potential ways to accommodate your child. Additionally, please check back with us in the future, as our capabilities may change. Thank you for your understanding!

How do you ensure safety across multiple homes?
Before bringing children into any home, we require a home visit to ensure a safe and suitable learning environment. During this visit, we will assess the space and confirm that it meets our standards for safety and child-proofing. Families will need to sign a form verifying that the home is baby-proofed, that all weapons are securely locked away, and that other safety measures are in place.
We take the safety and security of all our children very seriously. Unfortunately, families that cannot provide a secure and safe environment for our classrooms will not be able to participate. Thank you for your understanding as we prioritize the well-being of every child in our care.

What type of qualifications do your nannies have?
At Curious Minds Nanny Co., our nannies are not only experienced and passionate about early childhood education, but they also hold certifications through the US Nanny Association. This certification demonstrates their commitment to providing high-quality childcare and adherence to national standards.
To achieve certification, our nannies must meet rigorous requirements, including:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Documented childcare training and work experience
- A successful background check
- Passing an industry exam based on national nanny standards
This certification process ensures that our caregivers are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to create a safe and nurturing environment for your children. By investing in their professional development, we aim to provide the best possible care and education for every child in our program.

Will My Child have a Dedicated Nanny?
Absolutely! Our goal is to ensure that each group of four children has the same nanny throughout their time with us.
Unfortunately, high teacher turnover is a common trend in the daycare industry, with some children experiencing as many as four to five different teachers in a single year. We are actively working to combat this issue by implementing several key strategies, including offering our nannies a livable wage, providing company vehicles, and allowing time off for vacations and personal self-care. By prioritizing the well-being of our nannies, we aim to create a stable and nurturing environment for your child(ren).

What Age Groups do you support?
We currently offer care for children aged approximately 2 to kindergarten. Due to the level of movement and adventure involved in our activities, it's important that children are able to walk and listen attentively.
At this time, we do not provide afterschool care. However, if you are interested in this option, please reach out to us! We would be happy to discuss your needs and explore potential solutions together.
-
How large are the class sizes?
Each nanny will care for no more than four children. While each group will primarily focus on their own activities, different groups may occasionally come together during our adventures for shared experiences and fun!
-
Are you open year round?
Yes, we are open year round. However, we do follow the York County and Williamsburg-James City school system for closings, such as weather and holiday (i.e., Thanksgiving, Christmas) breaks. We will also have a week we don't offer care during the summer.
